This is a real pleasure to create the blog on Himalayan Trekking. I hope this will be useful to all nature lovers.
The Gangotri- Tapovan trek was my dream come true. We were 10 people. We started on 1 St June 2012. By train from Ahmedabad to Haridwar. One day rest and started on 3-6-12 morning for Uttarkashi (200 km) by the Zylo 6 .One night halt at Uttarkashi and sight seeing and some what acclimatization during evening.
The next day started for Gangotri (90 km).on the way beautiful mountains and river flowing below the road line.on the way stopped at gangaria and harshil for snacks and tea. Hazel has pictures landscape and beautiful streams of ice melting. Worth of photography.
Then reached Gangotri at around 1.30 pm.
Due to cold weather and altitude we were experiencing breathlessness .
We found staying in a good hotel and had some snacks and Tea. The evening was a local small roundup of the place. To get access to track one should have permission from the Forest Dept, which was arranged by our Guide from the Uttar Kashi itself, otherwise difficult to get in.
The trek was awesome with breathtaking mountain views and mighty Ganges(Bhagirathi) flowing some hundred feet below along the trek. Beautiful flowers laden Shrubs and Chid were worth to see in a life time. Although the track was some what tricky and felt high breath, it was very memorable. The peace and natural beauty were an comprehemble. One must visit himself to experience it.
We stayed in tents at chidwasa nearly 8 km from Gangotri. At the riverbanks, which have a small forest rest house .We were spellbound to see the flora and fauna there. Different type of sparrows and doves were spotted. we had dinner in the tents made by our porters and local cook. In the night the cold was severe.
Please wait until I update my blog.
Thanks you.
further i will write in next session.
